Today we decided to film the first scene of the children's film. We filmed around the college and got our opening shots, and introduced two of the characters.
We found it really hard to film because Adam is our main character, and he wasn't here today. The camera also wouldn't turn smoothly so it was all bumpy . There's quite alot of people that were in the background of the film, so we managed to get extras, but we did ask for their consent.
If Adam doesn't turn up next lesson, we will use Aidan as a substitute (as the nerd). And Adam will be dropped from the film.

Garge band ideas
We are thinking of having opening music to set the scene with a school bell to start the action we think this will be effective because it will set a mood and it will stop with the school bell relating to kids.
Back to the future analysis
In the back to the future opening is played one big tracking shot going round in a circle with music having a good contrast with the images being shown you get a good idea of the characters in the rest of the film from where they live and the items they have in there house. The conversation they have shows there wackiness as one of them is in the obviously not in the present.

Final Ideas:
Characters/narrative/sets:
the characters include a bully, bully's friend and the nerd.
It is set in the college down a corridor.
The bully (Jason) bully's the nerd (Tom) then Tom drinks a special drink that turns him into a more confident and herioc figure that makes the Jason and Darren (the bully's friend) scared and then they respect Tom.
- How does it meet the conventions of a children's opening scene?
The story has a moral...

Set in college
Adam the nerd/Adman/Badman
Aidan the bully
Bethan bully number 2
verity the camera woman
The story is about a geek in college who gets bullied. Then the geek drinks a special drink and overcomes the bullies somehow...
The conventions of a fantasy film we are going to use in our opening are
This film has a moral to it which is very important and links with the storyline. The theme of the film is standing up for yourself which young children can learn a lesson and maybe relate to. This is shown by having the main character in the opening and being picked on but then a change happens and he learns to stand up for himself. This is also another type of convention used in fantasy films where the main characters are introduced straight away.
Another convention we plan to have that Fantasy films have in the opening scenes is we are going to open with a catchy, happy tune at the beginning which will hopefully appeal to the young audience. We also plan to have the title of the film come across the screen in a special way with bright colours which will attract the audience.
The main convention of fantasy in our film we are planning to include is the idea of Adams character drinking a special drink which happens to change him over night. This drink will be called Pretentous
This is unrealistic but would appeal to young children as they would wish it was real.
Adam's character will be a sterotypical nerd who dresses in a shirt, jackup trousers, bow tie, smart shoes, glasses and a small rucksack(tight) by doing this it means we can show how he acts and why he is bullied.
Aidan's character is a bully who bullies Adam the nerd by playing pranks on him and laughing at him. His costume will be a black hoody, tracky b's, trainers, a funny fake tattoo. This is another sterotype bully but this links to the moral of the story and at the end he will learn his lesson
